Analysis of my first continuity sequence.
Shot 1
The first shot of the sequence is a long shot. In this long shot that it establishes the location and where the character is walking to. The shot shows the character walking away from the camera towards his car.
Shot 2
The sequence then continues by using a match on action, where the camera moves but the character continues to walk from where the last shot was cut. We use the door way as a place to cut the two shots together. This is also a long shot which shows the character continuing to walk to his car. This shot includes a slight pan to the left as we follow the character to his car.
Shot 3
We then used another match on action of him opening the car door. this cut to a close up of him opening the car door.
Shot 4
This shot shows him going to sit down in the car but then cuts to another shot using another match on action. This broke the 180 degree rule.
Shot 5
This shot is where we see him sitting on a chair in the space of where his car was. This is a long shot which shows him sit down on the chair and look around wondering what happened to his car. this wasn't the best shot but it still managed to tell the story.
Shot 6
We then used a match on action to change camera angle. This shot was a medium shot and showed the chair and the character. This helped to show his reaction to what seemed like his car disappearing.
Shot 7
This shot is a close up of the characters face where we hear his reaction to his car disappearing. The shot is a medium close up. This shows the characters head and shoulders with a small bit of space above his head.
Shot 8
This shot shows the character walking down the corridor towards a classroom it shows him going to walk to open the door. as he reaches for the door handle and opens the door and as he opens it it cuts to the next shot.
Shot 9
In this shot we use a match on action as the character walks through the door. This is a medium long shot and shows him walk in and ask if "anyone had seen his car" we then used a shot/reverse shot to show someones response.
Shot 10
In this shot another character replies to his question and says "no Declan you took the bus today". This was a medium close up and uses the shot/reverse shot edit.
Shot 11
In this shot you see the characters reaction which is shown by using the shot reverse shot edit and shows him looking very confused. This is a medium shot as it shows part of his body. This shot then cuts to black.
